Do you remember Neo at the beginning of The Matrix Reloaded? The poor kid. He had accomplished so much in the first movie and now some time had passed and he felt completely lost.
If you recall what he told Trinity:
“I wish I knew what I’m supposed to do. That’s all. I just wish I knew.”
If you think back to the end of the first movie, he was so confident and focused. Now, things weren’t so clear to him. Of course, there are many things Neo COULD choose on his own to do, but as he was trying to move along a specific path, he was waiting for precise direction to make the best choice.
Trinity gave him some great advice:
“She’s gonna call. Don’t worry.”
‘She’ being me of course.
As I like to say, “we’re all here to do, what we’re all here to do.” And this is a big part of what I am here to do. You know, that whole “unbalancing the equation” thing. If you haven’t figured it out yet, what I do is cause a ‘constriction’ within a person’s false view of reality. That has to first happen for there to be room for ‘truth.’
Trinity knew that quite well. (It can pay to have a good woman in your life.)
Neo faced this condition at the beginning of all three movies. Had you noticed that each one begins with him both ‘asleep’ and ‘questioning’ what lay ahead?
As Trinity also wisely told him in The Matrix:
“It’s the question that drives us, Neo. It’s the question that brought you here.”
This isn’t a one-time thing either in someone’s life either. No matter what someone accomplishes, be it Neo in the Matrix, or in your own life, you’re still dealing with a world of concealment filled with all sorts of things that can trip you up – physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.
There’s an old Biblical story about Jacob having a dream with angels going up and down a ladder. We mentioned this in the first article in the Knowledge Base. That ladder connected him on earth to the “heavens above.” But what was that world in between – the one that ladder cuts through?
I can tell you that it’s a world of half-truths and confusion. It’s also the world you have to navigate through if you’re serious about advancement.
And that’s why the ladder is important. It’s the path through that complex middle world. It connects the one seeking, to the truth that emanates from beyond.
Stick to that ladder, that narrow bridge, and you’ll be all set. But if you go swimming around in that mixed-up world, it will only cause you setbacks.
But let’s go back to poor Neo. What was he to do? You don’t get a vacation from being “the One.” But there he was, feeling like he’d experienced a layoff from his job!
Morpheus once said that things happen the way they happen and can’t happen any other way. He had that so right. However, I admit it would be very difficult for Neo to remember those words as he sat there wondering what he was supposed to do next. Yet they apply just as much to when ‘nothing’ is what is happening.
As with everything else, there’s a purpose to the wait. That too is by design.
Neo encountered this at a deep level in the train station, after Rama Kandra, Kamala and Sati had departed. He was alone with no way out. It was just him and his thoughts. This more mature Neo used that time wisely – to meditate and look within.
It was the dawn of his next major elevation, as he began to understand the real path to the Source in the Matrix Revolutions.
You can’t control the condition life puts you in. But whatever situation you find yourself in, there’s a reason for it. I know this because it’s my job to know – and to help humans understand it. It’s what I am here to do – or should I say, “what I represent.”
As that wonderful man, John Lennon, once sang,
“There’s nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be … All you need is love.”
I’m sure we will talk more about ‘love’ later on. It’s going to be THE key theme in The Matrix Resurrections.
Have a cookie. You’ll feel right as rain.
