There’s an idea found in an old saying attributed to Francis of Assisi that goes, “It is in giving that we receive.” I’d suggest that this may be understood in a number of ways. It can relate to how we feel good by being kind to others, or that we positively impact our karma, or even cause the heavens to look with favor upon us in some way.
Not to take away from doing acts of kindness, but there’s an element of “expecting something in return,” in those interpretations. It’s human nature.
I believe Francis has something else in mind. That of giving, with positively no expectations – or if you will, no “restrictions.” This approach ends up benefitting all of us more than we realize.
Perhaps the best example is when we share ideas. When you illuminate someone’s mind, you help them release their own imagination and more ideas may appear “out of nowhere.” It’s like the many ripples that form after tossing a single stone into a pond.
Though we live distinct lives and each of us has our own specific purpose, we are all connected at a certain level. The exchange of ideas causes us to go deeper than had we just been investigating on our own. Concepts and beliefs merge and form new connections.
We enter a level of collective consciousness where 1+1 becomes more than 2, and where “WE can go further than ME.” As my friend the Oracle said, “the only way to get there is together.” I can tell you that this aspect of ‘together’ is going to be an important theme in The Matrix Resurrections.
This Matrix4Humans project not only presents a deep and original understanding of the movies, it also takes those concepts and turn them back around into “real life” ideas to help free your mind from whatever may block your own path forward. We’re beginning The M-Files phase of our project this winter for that purpose.
I look forward to exploring this with you in greater detail, in the months ahead!
The choice is yours. The honor is mine.
