The Final 7 Years (Matthew 24 & Sanhedrin 97a)
This is simply a look at two texts that parallel a certain time. Basic theme from Sanhedrin 97a in parentheses. Text of Matthew 24 in italics. More to come.
YEAR 1 (rain in places and drought in others).
YEAR 2 (food shortages) caused by:
And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
YEAR 3 (great famine, many deaths & Torah forgotten)
There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.
YEAR 4 (partial food recovery)
But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten qin synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them.
YEAR 5 (plentiful food and Torah returns)
And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations, etc
YEAR 6 (heavenly sounds)
“But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, etc.
YEAR 7 (wars and the coming of the messiah)
For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be, etc.
When is this to occur? No one can say for certain, not is it appropriate to ‘guess’ at dates. Having said that, recognizing the signs of the times is not only permissible, it is important. Combining Sanhedrin 97 with teachings of the Leshem based on the Zohar, the outer boundary for Mashiach to come is the year 5790, which would be the final Shemita cycle beginning in the fall of 2022. This would place us in year 2 at this time (January, 2024). As we had record floods and droughts globally in the previous year, and supply chain issues are in the news at this time due to various global issues, especially the middle east, it is interesting.
